Do Manx Utilities install electric vehicle charging points at domestic dwellings free of charge, like Jersey? It’s a start offering some form of incentives to encourage, but what will put potential users off is the electricity charges, potential increases in vehicle charges (to boost IOMG coffers) and then IOMG government not investing in infrastructure such as charging points.

Plus lots of civil servants & banning fossil boilers years before UK without any real infrastructure around heat/air source heating

The race to net zero, and IOMGs desire to dick wave and boast how they are world leading.

How do you work that out?

Banning fossil fuel boilers will mean householders will have to turn to an alternative, air source heat pumps seem to be the rage so the demand for 'lektrik will increase. Or have I got that wrong?

And don't forget the extra demand for 'lektric vehicles.

The demand for electricity will go up but if you read the Governments future Energy report that is taken into consideration. I reckon there will be some local spots where they will have to beef up some of the cables/substations but in terms of overall use/generated capacity  its not a major issue I don't think.

Jersey gives £350 towards the cost of a charger at home. They are not free.

What real infrastructure do you need around air source heat pumps?

Well in addition to what others have said there’s not enough trained plumbers/tradesmen to install them all. And the move to insist on complete new heating system for minor extensions is completely OTT.

To see an example of how this works shops no longer allowed plastic bags have no means of return so are now giving them away in number. In turn they are appearing in the hedges and gutters of the Island. Win win 🤣🤣

Having just read the Courier regarding the installation of wind turbines have our Government completely lost its collective  mind ? according to the article we don't know enough about the site, no studies have been commissioned , it won't produce any benefit to the consumer, it will trash the fauna and flora and damage Castletown.

All this led by some middle aged hippy and her cohorts, so they can go to bed with a warm fuzzy feeling !

They'll have a warm fuzzy feeling when we are bankrupt and everyone who can will have left the island. To jump in like this is utter lunacy, have they learned nothing from the Liverpool debacle ?

What happens to people we elect are they lobotomised !

Talking of wind turbines especially onshore, Jason Moorehouse Castletown, Arbory and Malew MHK is not very happy regarding communication of this scheme. I can’t fathom whether he is objecting or his constituents are objecting, or there is something that he is unhappy with? All these schemes are great in theory, but in true IOMG fashion, they aren’t practical or properly worked out.

  • What others have said isn't true
  • You don't need a new heating system for extensions. You keep saying this. Its not true and never has been. Its only if your existing boiler is too small.
  • They are not difficult to install. Only bit that needs special qualification over and above any other heating system is the piping of the refrigerant and that's not a big job. If there is work, tradesmen will reskill

Lets stick to facts and not myths
