Still no action or statement from the Council though. Ones likely far too busy bigging up a stretch of pavement on Twitter, another is clearly far too busy posting pictures of the racing on Twitter, and the really funny angry one is probably already fighting with half of Douglas on Twitter about global conspiracies to enslave the working classes. No wonder Mr Wheeler found the reception desk empty. It’s doubtful anyone works up there at all outside of the van driver who was tasked with taking his bin back. Amadeus
As my inbox can attest, there’s a loooooong backstory to this. I’ll leave it to the people dealing with it to officially comment.
Albert Tatlock
He leaves an EMPTY bin? He needs to do a course...'Protesting 101'.

Indeed - the opposite of a “dirty protest”… ”I want to protest about bins not being emptied - so I’ll bring this bin, which has been emptied, down to the Town Hall, that’ll show ’em!”

It's even more bonkers when you realise what he's protesting about seems to be the bins at the Rosemount. If those are overflowing it's the fault of H&B for not arranging sufficient commercial collections to clear them and has nothing to do with any alteration to domestic rubbish collection. It also means he was technically stealing the (empty) bin. There's clearly a long, demented story here, but the 'protester' appears to believe that he is entitled to dictate the appearance of his entire environment and it is the job of Douglas Council to enforce his wishes. This will not end well. 1

No well managed business in Douglas has used DBC to empty its bins for decades. There are much better options available for commercial waste.

It is believed a DBC employee has added their two pennerth worth in the comments section, and is getting some serious stick.
