More uselessness from DBC

Joney Faragher criticized the leader of the Labour Party for condemning the attack on innocent people at a music festival, now Alfie has done the same as have many other people, no matter what the rights and grievances are  anyone who thinks this barbaric attack on innocent people of all nationalities is justified is really sad.  It has proved nothing and the bloodshed on both sides Island will be horrendous.

What a load of rubbish (has been recycled)

Rubbish is right.

so the first year is Covid when everyone was at home and generating loads of rubbish and couldn’t drive to the tip and the last ‘year’ is 5 months. Almost completely meaningless.

The NPM (MR) reports today that DCC has borrowed £1.4m, and it intends to spend the sum on Douglas Prom refurb, in particular the play areas and the gardens. Very admirable but at this moment in time would hardly think it’s a priority. Every time there is a storm, debris floods the Promenade with storm debris. Hasn’t the area had instances of severe damage caused, with it then out of bounds, and waiting for the remedial work to be carried out.

FFS you’re first to criticize everyone for doing nothing & then when something positive is announced to enhance the area you complain about that as well!!

The play area was very popular with families not that you’re interested.

i guess the real criticism should be that all these things were allowed to go into disrepair in the first place

Douglas Promenade is very popular and used by everyone, but look at the mess that ‘refurb’ caused, both overrunning in time and costing the GMP in the pocket.

I said that it’s admirable in this scheme, but it’s hardly a priority. Maybe others have similar opinions?

Unless there is a proper maintenance and repair schedule in place, and DCC actually adhere to then I’m afraid the newly refurbished areas will go back to its original state.
