The fortnightly collection nonsense , as you call it, has applied to parts of the island for decades.

It’s not an issue.  I have lived in six houses since the early 90’s and four of them were fortnightly collection.

The only people who struggle with it are those who have been weekly their whole lives and so assume it’s a big deal or a step backwards.  It really isn’t.

How many would have voted for a return to weekly if it came with the stipulation of increased rates?

Perhaps someone can offer them a private service to fill in the other weeks if they're that shite at sorting out their bins.

if they gave everybody bigger bins that could hold 2 weeks worth of rubbish it wouldn't be an issue , but they are really wanting to deal with less rubbish to save money and at the end of the day not everyone can produce less rubbish.

Nope, just upgrading as we could afford better places.  We don’t like living on building sites so prefer to move as our circumstances improve than extend or have work done.
