Best way to resolve is to get all islands together to approach Bank head offices directly preferably with some UK political pressure, maybe all the trips to Westminster will pay off

The IOM doesn’t do teamwork or working with others. It can dick wave if the think they have been successful. Pathetic really, egos!

We could have a debtors' prison, a Manx Marshalsea, where those who can't satisfy creditors are banged up and feeding and heating them is the responsibility of their families. There would be loads of potential prisoners over coming months given the financial situation. We could get great exposure with fly on the wall documentaries and further boost our image as a caring, compassionate place to live.

That sounds like a positive rather than a negative. Most people using car finance are typically in the automotive equivalent of negative equity.

I feel especially bad for people driving Range Rovers bought on credit.

Generally manufacturers finance is a lot more competitive than locally based providers, it is a hindrance to customers and dealers.

Five years ago we bought our second hand Leaf on three years interest free finance. I didn't need or want it, but they gave you a free home charger if you did. It didn't make much sense to me, but it was a good offer to miss.

Quite a funny conversation when I phoned to tell them it had been re registered on IOM plates. They muttered something about not doing finance on the IOM so I suggester they better inform their approved dealer over here of that fact. Never heard from them again.

The AMEX card comes with many benefits.

Don't knock what you cant afford. 🙂

You get discount at some big stores at major cities and you get first "stab" at the local hussy, instead of sloppy seconds at the eastern european hotel.

Too much detail.
