Ok.

Lets just have less rental properties than the market needs and see the prices soar then so that nobody can ever save.

There is a balance to be struck, and the market needs landlords.  The government have already bought in disincentives to make it harder for landlords to buy.  What more do you want them to do?

Landlords do not create properties. There is not a shortage of properties on the island.

Nobody off the island thinks any less of us because they live here.  Most people don’t even know who they are or cares where they live.

Yes they do. It was actually raised in a meeting I had in London start of the year if they both still lived here because it must be embarrassing for the IOM having all the negative publicity associated with the PPE enquiry. That was by a lawyer.

There is a shortage of properties that people want to buy or are able to mortgage.

There is a massive shortage of rental properties

Landlords aren’t buying up property they are offloading them as prices remain high - why put yourself through all the potential bother associated with renting to net 4% return- bank the capital at the top of the market and earn the same in a savings account.

Therefore less property to rent and prices go up - simple economics.

Can’t be bothered to go back through but someone said “my family member is an estate agent” fuck me some neck to admit that be better off saying “my uncle Jimmy used to smoke cigars and be on Saturday TV”

First half of your post is exactly right.  The fact that some people can’t see that is concerning.

The second part of your post - it was me who said that.  The world need estate agents.  At least he isn’t a lawyer

But lawyers complete the estate agents deals and get them off drink driving without a full license.

You can drink drive and sell a house without an Estate Agent just can’t get the job done without a lawyer

I was talking about people who have been in touch with the estate agent I am related to.

You have assumed what type of people they are.

Crazy Dave's palmares now included being related to an estate agent... who'd have guessed :whatever:

Dickhead...

There are loads of people and families moving here.

Do you have evidence to suggest otherwise?

Where do you work that isnt seeing people relocate to the island at the moment?

Dickhead...

I am typing this on a bus (timetable was pretty easy) with people sat next to us who have been chatting to us about how much they love the island having moved here in April.

You only have to look at the local Facebook groups or socialise anywhere on the island to know there are people moving here all the time.
