Albert Tatlock
Any good ideas for xmas cooking? I'm not a bad cook...do quite complex recipes...looking for something a bit different/interesting to cook for a couple of extra foreign vegan visitors this year. Something Manx perhaps? Some good options available from M&S, Waitrose. Been vegan for a long time now, getting easier every year.
John Wright
Yes, there’s lots of prepared veggie/vegan food. But it’s so easy to cook from scratch. If you’re doing an otherwise standard Xmas lunch/dinner the vegetables stay the same. I like things like celeriac or cauliflower steaks. Simple but tasty. And you can use the leftover for the other diners. Celeriac chips, or added to mash potatoes, maybe a baked/braised fennel. Different tastes and textures.

I've done curries for our vegan family members other years. Having said that, they're pretty much uninterested in food, and would have been happy with a bread roll and crisps! Princess tinned vegan curry & chilli is not at all bad as a standby, I expect available at Tesco's. Also some excellent frozen stuffed Chicago vegan pizza available. My favourite food is bread, easy to please.

I was expecting blandness but the Princes vegan range actually tastes ok. As does its plant-based stuff. Occasionally.
