Computer consultant Gavin Seagers was sentenced to two years after he admitted fantasising online about abducting and torturing kids. He used the name Spank Daddy on the web. And in April he was snared by the Daily Mirror trying to meet a boy of 11 for private computing lessons. But, incredibly, police will NOT apply for a lifetime ban on him working with children after the temporary one ran out this month. Speaking on his doorstep yesterday, the 34-year-old pervert said: "I am pleased about the decision. I am pleased that I am allowed to get on and live my life. "I have never abused a child and never will. This decision by the police and probation recognises that. "But that has cost a lot of time and money - and for what? It is a waste and a ban should never have been put on me in the first place. "I have had an independent expert assessment that says I am not a risk and that is all anyone needs to know. I should never have been targeted like this." What exactly does an 'independent expert assessment' consist of? Nor should this 'Computer consultant' be allowed near the internet. I'm old enough to remember a childhood when the police (and men) protected children. What on earth's happened to them?
