hissingsid
And still people are complaining on Social Media instead of contacting OFT who have only had 150 complaints, according to them.

Most likely another outfit who never answer the phone! 1

This seems to happen frequently. People also comment on Facebook posts advertising the details of public consultations rather than taking part in the actual consultation itself. I think it’s a combination of laziness and stupidity. 2
hissingsid
I thought OFT was going to sort this sad affair out they have certainly been sabre waving but it has gone very quiet on that front another case of talking the talk without the ability to walk the walk…pathetic. They can’t be bothered and would prefer sending estimated bills, and for the customer to do their job, and send in a meter reading, and in turn they will cock the bill up again and again. CallMeCurious
MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF THE ISLE OF MAN OFFICE OF FAIR TRADING HELD ON 27TH JANUARY 2023 AT 9.30 AM IN THE BOARDROOM, THIE SLIEAU WHALLIAN, ST JOHNS ... The Chairman, Vice Chairman, Head of OFT and representatives of the Communications and Utilities Regulatory Authority (CURA) had met with the Chief Executive and officers of Isle of Man Energy (IoME) on 16th January 2023. IoME had advised that the billing system had been corrected but a backlog of errors remained to be resolved. IoME had agreed to resolve its billing problems by the end of January 2023. The situation was to be reviewed on 1st February to assess whether IoME had satisfied its obligation. The OFT would feed comments in to the development of CURA’s proposed gas regulation changes. ... Action by NRT (Mr N R Taylor, Secretary to the Board presumably) The silence from the OFT is deafening. Has Manx Gas met it's obligations or not? I'm guessing the latter, otherwise Mr Wannenburgh would have been on MR to tell us all about it and how effective the OFT is. After all whats a few more weeks when it's been rumbling along since November. Maybe sanctions like banning advertising on Manx Radio until it is sorted? Or a reduction in the permitted profit cap. Probably hoping we'll just forget about it. 1

Which is actually against the T&C's of Pay & Display parking. That's why modern machines ask for Reg or use VRN cameras to maximise revenue.
