Two-lane
For how long has the software problem existed? Perhaps 10 years ago Manx Gas was taken over by a Channel Islands company (or whatever), and a little after that I spoke to someone working there. He said that they were trying to rationalise the differing software systems within the new organisation to make things more efficient - but that there were problems. I said, "You mean like one system has the customer name as a single field and another system has the customer name as multiple fields". He gave me the big eye-roll and said "Yeah, something like that". Are the current problems a hangover from the previous problems, are are they a completely new set of problems? hissingsid
Roxanne according to John W Manx Gas is refusing to give a written assurance it is not a case of they haven’t up to now. I read this today, may have been in IOMToday may have been on Social Media but John W was replying to a comment he also criticised the headline as he said it was misleading. Non-Believer
3 hours ago, Roxanne said: ‘The OFT can only fire the arrows it has in its armoury,’ Mr Wannenburgh added. This. Unfortunately the available arrows aren't particularly fast, sharp or heavy and, as a result, lack penetration when used against a thick-skinned target of multinational proportions. Although they are very effective when used against small local retailers selling unauthorised carved wooden whatnots relevant to the TT. Numbnuts
Wannenburgh and OFT are not fit for purpose. OFT never have had any powers and this situation has brought this home. Wannenburgh as good as admitted this to me in a spat with him on Facebook….Meanwhile the OFT ,who are supposed to protect the manx public , are waffling to try and buy time hoping Manx Gas will somehow sort it all out. OFT need to remind MG about the current price of gas and while at it tell Cannan and treasury … Robbing so and so’s, Edited May 8, 2023 by Numbnuts 1

She couldn’t run a tap never mind a business She’s been promoted to CEO of the whole group largely based in Petersfield in the UK which I assume makes it easier for her to flit in and out of the Channel Islands. I don’t think she’s been seen here for a while. https://islandsenergygroup.com/leadership Some interesting directorships in the UK registry though as she seems to have specialized in high profile 2 year roles (ie, do a year or so, then get binned off) like a lot of these private equity people. UK Registry: https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/officers/3zAx2Z1IsYrTGMiEMo0qkT5E3EE/appointments Interestingly on the subject of smart meters she’s also a past (also very short term) Director on Calvin Capital which seems to be a finance broker that is helping other UK utility providers fund the roll out for their smart meter programmes. And which seems to have had a lot of operating companies that seem to be there to cover the installing of meters. https://www.smart-energy.com/regional-news/europe-uk/landisgyr-expands-partnership-with-calvin-capital-to-speed-up-uk-smart-meter-rollout/ I wonder who’s assisting the Island Energy and MUA smart meter roll outs?
