No idea https://www.gov.im/news/2023/mar/22/new-land-registration-fees-seek-to-differentiate-on-island-and-off-island-purchasers/ I don’t know why they didn’t publicise this more, people are always on about buy to let and off island people buying houses (estate agent friend reckons it actually happens a lot less than people seem to think) and a lot of people don’t seem to know they made these changes last year. Albert Tatlock
Govt will just see it as a winner...while still ignoring the main issues.
2112
I see IOMGs rebuttal unit has been on the NPM defending its record on housing, with another masterclass in bullshittery from Professor Dr David Ashford MBE MHK. Why did they feel the need to reply to Peter Karran? Peter Karran is entitled to give his views and opinions, and as such it’s probably in a personal capacity, not on behalf of the LibLabVan party. Were they wanting to create another social media or phoney war to show they are tough and on top of the issue. Finally, having Professor Dr David Ashford MBE MHK trotted out every time any politico, ex politico or commentator makes a comment on housing matters, is rather comical especially by someone who was heavily criticised and involved in the Ranson Case, which lead to his resignation as Treasury Minister. Can you believe what he says? 1

Moghrey Mie
Of course the government should reply when Peter Karran says, 'Nothing has been done about housing'. That's obviously nonsense.
