Thing is , whos doing the investigating ....!! Of course it will be independent as are all this sort of things .

Dont bet on it !!

Gef reports that the police have not yet been contacted. So likely purely an internal investigation.

"Lessons have been learnt" will be used somewhere along the lines.

Yep, like how to keep your noses deep in the troughs, while most others are struggling. I have to admit, after 30 years living here, I am one of the apathetic ones. Because, what is the point? Everything changes but nothing changes. Beautiful island (Paradise on Earth), but stinks to high Heaven the higher you look/smell.

Twitter. Then a poster put screenshots on MF which raised debate as to legal position if they are found later to be defamatory

Local media have published snapshots, so all must be okay. Perhaps they have had the seal of approval from Athol Street?

Which local media ?

Gef have published the story with a link to the first tweet of the Twitter thread (there was a discussion earlier about links v screenshots, with people making the point that a link is less 'publishing' as if the original is removed, the link stops working, while a screenshot will still show the potentially offending material).  Other outlets (MR, IOMN) have just reported on the Council's statement.
