A good question, though it's possible in his current situation he doesn't entirely trust the police or other state institutions.  But it could also be that the behaviour he far as he has described isn't technically illegal, though it could easily prove to be illegal if for example there was payment in return for the alleged favours.  The other instance of misbehaviour he alleged may be in the same situation, though both would clearly be examples of employees breaching their contract.

Well observed.

However, in both cases the investigation should be conducted in private

For HR reasons

For GDPR reasons

To avoid compromising potential criminal proceedings

But the local authority finding should be made public.

Although as Roger Mexico notes they’ve had a good amount of time to do that already and clearly nothing has happened. In fact the whole strategy appears to be that they’re just hoping that it either goes away or Mr Scales gets irredeemably tainted in court to discredit his comments.

He then raised it publicly again weeks ago. Very serious allegations that DBC clearly has no intention of investigating

Two weeks isn't very long to conduct any sort of investigation. I'd be far more alarmed if they came back after two weeks.

Still waiting for them to confirm who the person was who spoofed Manx Radio too.

Anyone with an IT brain can spoof an email, and if you do it through Tor or a VPN then it'll be untraceable without specialist investigation. Sounds a bit overkill for a spam email when any self-respecting journalist would have checked to see if it's genuine.

If only Ms Burns knew this.... That thread disappeared quick.

No is I said, and as Roger Mexico has stated, it was allegedly reported to DBC months ago and looked into. It was then raised publicly with screenshots published after that. A few weeks should be more than enough time if the Councillor it claimed it was reported to originally months back did their job properly and had it investigated.

No, Scales said he mentioned it to a Councillor, nothing more.

As for screenshots, just the other day someone was convicted of sending dodgy texts to themselves to try and get someone else into trouble. Investigating whether the screenshots are genuine takes time. Assuming Scales has even supplied the originals to DBC; he's certainly not gone to the police, or assisted the alleged victims in doing so, which is odd in itself.

They have the chance to prove. They made a public statement to that effect. They haven’t proved and therefore I’d say it’s safe to say it was all a lie.

Well you seem to put a lot of faith in Scales allegations when most people would just dismiss them as absurd, you must be a mate of steady Eddie who carried on your conspiracy theories whilst you were banned & now you’re back he’s gone, spooky 😂

If only there was an alternative news platform operated by people linked to DBC we could access. Then we’d be able to find out the real inside skeet on all of this stuff!

Last time we tried to discuss it I;

A) Got a legal advice message from @Albert Tatlock

B) Got banned for a month.

C'mon @Amadeuswhat's going on? Is it dodgy or is the Twitter a lie? Or are your officers keeping you in the dark? Surely it doesn't take long to establish initial findings and see if there's any scope of what is accused actually going on? Are the people accused of wrongdoing suspended or still at work?

Internal investigation is nonsense, we all know it is. Do what Gov does, get Expol in.

Lessons have been learnt!

Maybe they’re now recruiting for a building control officer on Facebook. Does that mean one’s either been kicked out or left recently? As suggested above if only there was a way for people who work at the Corpy to post news or gossip anonymously on social media somewhere.

The silence on this is still deafening. And yet the leader still publicly pushes fantasy emails.

Have you asked your councilor for an update?

If you believe what the Guy from Ettyl was saying then I would say you’re in fantasy land!
