Mistercee
The Isle of Man where you can ...........................spend money on decrepit old junk in the name of "heritage" Our public servants continue to spend a fortune on vanity projects at a time when the Island is in the biggest mess in living memory!! Manx Electric Railway, Steam Railway, Horse Trams - all prioritised over healthcare and basic infrastructure such as roads and sewerage. Complete and utter madness in my humble opinion!!
quilp
Foodbanks, mental health, recruitment, energy poverty etc., the list is a long one. £5million? When is our passive and supine population going to say, "enough is enough."

Well for what it’s worth, £5million+ if it actually keeps to budget and time, on a building, probably excluding exhibits. In the meantime, a great shortage of general key worker, general non key worker and social housing. In short, priority is given to a non important (except to heritage luvvies) old boat, whilst other important priorities are ignored.

Andy Onchan
It'll be £10 million. It's always a case with IOMG, you have to look at the starting number and double it.

hissingsid
It is being discussed in Tynwald today so the funding must be Government related.
The Bastard
Climate-controlled box at somewhere like the MNH large object store would be cheaper, or shipping it off to the National Maritime Museum perhaps. Can't see it being a huge tourist draw enough to raise the 5m+ to house it. 2

0bserver
Maybe the Peggy could just fuck off to Liverpool and sit in the new shed we've already (almost) built for £99.9m? A £99.9m shed is surely better than a £5m shed.
