O"h so it doesn't recommend closing down the section of the MEA between Laxey and Ramsey  then ,

why ask for an independent report  ,then ask to amend it ,? perhaps the truth is  the outcome is too awful  to consider ,

one thin government is good at is ducking major decisions they might be difficult for certain politicians , and kicking the can down the road ,  all will be revealed   I just wish someone would leak the original  report  warts and all

"Garage owner Andrew Malone, of the Quickfit Supercentre, says he will fight eviction proceedings in court next month. "

From elsewhere:

"Laurence Skelly MHK, Minister for Enterprise commented:

‘Establishing Manx Development Corporation is an important first step for the repurposing of Government owned brownfield sites."

I found it odd, but not surprising, that the CEO also asked for the names of the people interviewed for the report!

Re. heritage rail review.

"SYSTRA is one of the world's leading engineering and consulting groups specialised in public transport and mobility solutions"

Make an Internet search on "SYSTRA heritage rail" and you get no hits.

If SYSTRA is looking at the system only from a commercial point of view, there will be just one conclusion.

Their definition of 'brownfield site' is any area that has been developed previously ie not green field.

I'd have thought the Former Nurses' Home would be enough for MDC to do.

Westmorland Road seems a bit ambitious.

Start small and see how you get on with that - well, small car parks, anyway:

The future is fewer cars, or do you think we can carry on as we are, assuming you have an interest in the future (which round here most don't)

This is linked very much with the railways, they should be have modern rolling stock and sell off the old choo chos if they are worth anything.

Why would you need to [o park? #getabus

Maybe you could walk into Tynwald and tell all the MHKs and MLCs and Presidents and Speakers and other persons there (must be at least another dozen) that they have to get the bus to work.

Amadeus would probably turn up to record the video. I will hold your jacket.

I wonder how many of the MDC people get the bus (or ride a bicycle in this weather - uphill, into a headwind).

There are 133 dwellings planned for this site, plus 37 flats in the old nurses home, plus offices in the Crookall building (and office space can have more people per sq. meter than in living accommodation).

The 37 flats in the old nurses home have a total of 4 car park spaces. The houses get one per house.

There looks to be about 30 car park spaces unallocated.

So the all the blocks of flats, plus the office space, plus the employees at the retail places, plus customers for the retail places, plus employees and visitors to the health centre equals - a problem.

I suppose all this has been pointed out before.
