Supply & demand determines market rates same as any other product which you seem to have difficulty grasping market economics!

I don't have difficulty grasping anything Banker, you seem to have difficulty grasping my point that we are a little island in the middle of the Irish Sea with a couple of events which up to now have been punching above their weight. These events bring more to the island than you seem able to believe, we are in danger of the great god of supply and demand doing irreparable damage to the said events, with a knock on effect to our hospitality industry. Not to mention destroy the very thing which attracts many talented enthusiasts here to live.

Must be the rumoured gearbox issue?

It’s about a 4 week run from Korea. Santona, the new e-flexer for Brittany Ferries, set off from the Chinese port of Weihei on 28/12.  Arrives Bilbao 25/12. Busan to IoM is same distance/route. Manxman is slower than Santona. The end February/mid March estimated arrival must be looking at risk.

It also needs a full internal fit out which is only going to happen once it reaches the UK. The ship is bare on the inside.

That’s not what I’ve been told. It’d be unusual. Most of the internal fit out will have been done. There’ll be small things. We will just have to wait and see.

Rather have it subsidise the finance sector by millions and million more. At least as Max has said, tourism increases the quality of life for residents too.

Subsidise the finance sector? The finance sector subsidises everything on the Island. Everything. We're a one trick pony.
