Carbolic!

Carbolic soap had added phenol and cresol - mildly antibacterial, but also a bit irritant for some users.

ETA: Standard issue in 1960s school toilets, along with Izal toilet paper!   Grim!

They haven’t announced more road works around Victoria Street, neither are they fixing any mistakes by the contractor who did the crossing work.

They are simply resurfacing the road now that all the roadworks and the majority of the heavy traffic for the plan.com building are done.

Yes ok Jeff!

This post is somewhat off-topic, but then so is soap...

Does anyone have some idea about the number of gov. building that have shower rooms for the employees - excluding areas with dangerous substances?

The reason for the question is that in a gov. building I have seen signs to shower facilities. Naturally I jumped to the conclusion that the tax payer has paid for these facilities to be installed so that CS lycra louts, arriving at work dripping with sweat, can spend the first hour of their working day having a shower and a shave, and apply a new layer of Old Spice.

Lots of decent offices have shower facilities.

Every decent office has showers for people who cycle in, or go for a run or bike ride in their lunch break.  Some have had for more than 20 years.

Why would it be an issue?
