I just thought I would let you know that (presumably) the DoI is hard at work providing much-needed facilities for you (as long as you wear lycra). This is clearly part of the "don't waste money" campaign

This is in the car park at Ramsey Shoprite where the Connect Villages Mini-bus stop (alias the gov. taxi service) is located. There seems to be a pretty substantial concrete plinth installed there, as well as a door. They must have got the idea from somewhere like Holland. Anyone want to start a book on when the door gets kicked in?

Well the car park appears to be empty too, so that's clearly unnecessary as well.

It may be aimed more at staff than shoppers.

The car park Is very well used and busy most days.  I dont know how you can say different from that photo?

Unfortunately it melts when it’s warm, pools water when it’s wet and is an ice rink when it’s cold since RTC arranged and paid for it to be resurfaced with a product yet to be seen outside of a job specified by RTC

If it’s underused, maybe it could be repurposed as a dogging shelter?

I'm looking at it more in terms of it being somewhere dry to take a piss for punters on their way home from the pub on a wet Saturday night....

Fairly certain that this building is listed /has a covenant on it. A well known developer offered to buy it but then walked away because the arches had to be retained. MDC were then supposed to be doing something world class with it. So now it's brownfield until DFE bribes someone. And DOI pays for the privilege.

Well observed, but you get the point. Government fucked up something really simple and are now going to pay a premium to get out of it, having already paid for emergency stables which would be repaid for and then some from the sale of the building (not site). 🤔😂

Now that really is up there with Gov's worst investments and that's saying something.
