Was this post advertised? Just curious to know how we know we have the best person for the job when this was a stop gap appointment after Mr Black headed for the hills. Presumably if they were part of the previous regime it'll just be business as usual.

Yes it was advertised.

Unfortunately, the advert has now gone from the Jobtrain website.

It would be interesting to see what sort of experience, qualification and previous track record they were looking for, and what they have ended up with.

The announcement gives no indication of Ms Curphey's background; is she an engineer, an accountant, a project manager or what?

What experience does she have as a leader of a large (in IOM Terms) and complex organisation?

What as she achieved, professionally, that sets her apart from her peers?

What sort of vision did she set out, for the DoI, that impressed the recruiters?

How many candidates were interviewed?

@Chris ThomasI'd imagine that you would have had a role in this charade process. Any comments?

‘The aims of Our Island Plan will continue to be the focus of what we want to achieve over the coming months, with the department’s performance playing a central role in fulfilling many of the key objectives.’  37 words

Jesus Christ do they get paid by word count or something?

"Our Island Plan goals are our focus, and the department's performance is key to achieving them."

Translation "Our circus continues".

Going forward.........

I think the role of DOI CEO is more of a politicians job now, basically a person who signs off projects and schemes

Then what does the DoI CEO do other than sign the documents put in front of them? In current phraseology, what value do they add?

Some interesting exchanges on the news page on FB regarding this appointment...what appears to be an ex-DOI employee appears to regard FOI requests as time-wasting. Truly an insight into the culture within this Dept?
