Ace aren't they. Had a bacon bap on the Manannan the other day. Using a Ross Bakery bap instead of the previous long life things they used to have made it lovely.

Thats good. I had a bacon bap on the Ben about 4 weeks ago. It was absolutely ry and hideous. It was one of those terrible frozen French Brioche crappy things. Ruined it.

New hospitality business coming to Castle Street in a couple of months.

They're taking possession this week.

I will qualify this by saying I'm an investor, so choose not to support if you wish, based on that.

They're specialising in craft beer, whisk(e)y, rum and cigars. Have a dedicated licensed cigar smoking area in their courtyard at the back of the property. Specialist local cocktail menu with use of local alcohols and ingredients available on IOM. Craft ciders sourced from UK too.

Lovely people. One I've known for years and the other owner is his wife from New York. They're leaning heavily on their heritage.

Not constant food due to lack of space and kitchen facilities but they have a few ideas up their sleeves (think New York chopped cheese and haggis bon bons).

Sounds high end but they're both very down to earth people, so won't be that.

Obviously wish them well.

That sounds awesome.

Hospitality over here is so much better than it was in the past.

Best of Luck, hope it’s successful.

Hospitality on the IOM and UK is the same everywhere, you’re only as good as your last meal. If you provide or get poor service you will get found out. Some are good with food, service and in these financially challenging times providing good value for money. Times have changed, customers have differing expectations now, as compared to hospitality in the past.

Works both ways, if you have a thousand satisfied customers and a few get less than 'best' service, probably because of an extremely busy period, then their view can skew the overall impression of that business?

Trip Advisor are particularly good at this!!!

Thank you everyone.

Honestly can't take the credit. I have provided some advice and minor bits here and there but it's all them.

Not so sure it was a wise investment to go in somewhere where I will be struggling to stay out of, as all four of their specialisms are vices of mine! 🤣

Chester St? Could you not be more specific? The rent deal has obviously been done, why the need for secrecy?

I'm going to start the rumour that Curpheys are closing down, right or wrong that is down to you Jack!

Could have course be Hendersons and a stupid name or the charity shop, or M & Co or Devereaux, or the new delelop on the corner of Frederick st, or the Kebab places on both sides of Chester St or LLoyds, or the little cafe on the east side or Oasis on the corner???

So which is it Jack? Do all these other businesses suffer an ''are they closing or not'' so that you can play the ''insider king'' to rumours?/?

Where is the new venture??? End the rumours now Jack.

OK, settled down now but again and again there is a propensity for people to play the '' , I know something you  don't''. It's so only for their own egos sake, Jack is particularly good at this, as I say, the rental will have been agreed by now, the closure of the previous business will be on the cards, they will know that, for Jack to play his cards close to his chest does not do any of these about to close businesses any good.

He does not have the right to affect the these businesses to promote his own ego?

Plain enough?
