x-in-man
Well, despite it being closed for refurbishment and open in the Spring, they have only just round to finding someone to tell them it's beyond repair and needs knocking down. https://www.gov.im/media/1382419/refurbishment-of-niarbyl-café-dalby-closing-080324.pdf?fbclid=IwAR2Z1ndzxyQe7IX7JcKiqk4tj89zAWfcmF2Ky9Xivnd049ewKP28Lijh0-U

Fred the shred
Could this have not been sorted out one way or another at the end of last year not just before the holiday season is fast approaching with Easter being a few weeks away. Apathy is the enemy. You'd think so wouldn't you. Smells exactly like the Cozy Nook or Tram Sheds. I think apathy has its own Govt Dept nowadays.

Apathy is the enemy. There's nothing there that you wouldn't expect to at least need looking at in a building that's been left unoccupied for a while (the long list will be so a contractor can't say "Well you didn't ask me to quote for that"). As you say the question is why it's been left for so long to be even looked at. Dispute with previous tenant? Unable to gain access?

If IOMG cared about tourism, like others have said, that site would have been done by now, and operating by Easter. Maybe they want tourists in MNH site cafes and gift shops, and perhaps Niarbyl is too much hassle for them? 2

Doesn't make much sense with that potential sculpture to be placed there if they were planning on offloading it. You'll be able to look through needle hole at the portaloos though.
2112
Since when have IOMG done something that makes sense. Yes, that building needs refurbishing, I dread to think of how many £ms will be spent.

If that was an option they’d have already bought a fleet of £250K specially kitted out Sprinter mobile catering units and employed 10 drivers to drive them around so that a three manned mobile kiosk unit can sell 5 cups of tea and a sausage roll a day at these key tourist sites. They’d make absolute millions in their usual dreams. Edited March 1 by Interested Reader
