I’d like to expose a former MLC who I believe once visited Peel during a Manx Choral Union Coach Trip in 1997. It’s disappointing that Ms Edge didn’t make reference to this in her answer either. I suspect it’s all a cover up.

thank god he didnt get in. what a terrible little man and not a lgbtq supporter by the look of things.

Talking of deities, something similar to this is being orchestrated by right-wing evangelical Christians in various parts of the USA (queers are recruiting our kids at school 'n' all).  Does anyone know what Josem's religious persuasion is?  I agree with BNM that socially he is clearly not a friend of friends of Dorothy.

He's actually quite a big man, over 6.2 anyway and I think he's relatively liberal/moderate and reasonably down with the queers.

None as far as I'm aware.  If any, he keeps it pretty quiet.

Stand to be corrected on all fronts however.

He's a libertarian, not a liberal.

Also being a little man is a state of mind not a measure of dimension.

He seems to have pivoted towards social Conservativism now. I'd heard he was cosying up to Living Hope.

I used to float around the same social circles as him and ended up at a lot of the same parties etc when he first moved to the Isle. I'll still have a chat with him when we bump into each other, on a personal level, he's not a bad guy.

He's always been a bit 'politicy' but never saw or heard anything to suggest he was a cultist or anti-queer.

I think he may be Jewish?

I quite like the guy, I've met him several times and he comes across as genuinely interested in local issues. I don't agree with some of the things that he says but that's his business.

It is weird to see some people appear to simultaneously believe the following two things:

1) It is good to have drag queens performing in schools.

2) It is bad to have public awareness of drag queens performing in schools.

It is also disappointing to see people imply that we should only share facts if it is consistent with pre-existing political views. I have long supported same sex marriage (eg, the last-ever vote that I cast in the Australian political system was to introduce same sex marriage!). As reported in the newspapers prior to the last election, my personal political hero is Tim Wilson, the former Member of the Australian Parliament who led the campaign for same-sex marriage, and who proposed to his (now) husband on the floor of the Australian Parliament.

Despite this, it never occurred to me that I should not share photos of a drag queen performing in a school because I think lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender people (and people with other sexualities!) deserve to be treated with dignity and love. I think that supporting LGBT+ people is entirely consistent with allowing people to know what is happening to schools, and consistent with supporting the rights of parents to make informed decisions about what is best for their children.

P.S. I don't wish to talk publicly about my faith or non-faith here. I'm the descendant of Holocaust survivors (and Holocaust victims) and I feel very uncomfortable about expecting public declarations of faith (or non-faith) from people in our community.

He now seems to be falling in even more with the GB News style right wing lunatic crowd. There’s also rumours of LH affiliations. Certainly not a friend of Dorothy or I’d wager even Dorothy’s non binary friend Dot. You won’t find him drinking Bud Light would be my guess. More shooting a crate of it out of the back of a pick up. Quite why LV keeps up its association is a mystery. But this has to be the IOMs lamest “expose” ever. Unrelated pictures of an unrelated event that happened 2 years ago that ‘prove’ that a made up event happened.

Brilliant news for you, nobody is doing that. People are suggesting that your disingenuous "reporting" is shite. Which it is. Don't bother replying with your mental gymnastics about how it's fine to mislead people in comments and posts because the longer-form blog acknowledges that the pictures are nothing to do with the alleged incident, because you know full well what the percentage of readers of each will be, and you're intentionally being an obtuse prat.
