Broadcasterman
Sadly you don’t see any of them Tweeting outside Douglas play parks pointing out how bad and unusable they apparently are? https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/lack-of-accessibility-in-some-play-areas-618673

Happier diner
Interesting article about the Slovenian capital. Made traffic free about 10 years ago. Locals were up in arms. Now they love it wouldn't change it. Open your minds https://www.vice.com/en/article/jg8wq7/slovenia-car-free-city-ljubljana

The sensible thing would be to encourage Tesco build an out of town store - probably somewhere up near B&Q. With far more parking and space for a wider range of goods. It's dumb having to drive into Douglas to go to that mini Tesco for the big shop.

And the other options of Shoprite and the Coop are so very much cheaper than Tesco aren't they And they have such superior products to Tesco don't they And they have many more and far bigger promotional deals than Tesco don't they And they have a far bigger selection than Tesco don't they. And they have an island wide delivery service don't they. Yeah, I must have missed all that somehow. Dirty Buggane
the main people trying to keep Tesco's within the town boundaries is you guessed it DBC can you imagine how much business rates they are coining in from them. Tesco's have attempted to move up to the business parks time and time again. Imagine the whole of retail getting trounced if they sold cloth's electrical and furniture

Compare the price of Tescos own brand goods with Sainsburys equivalents in Shoprite. I would be interested to know how the staff wages compare too. I like the Co-op. But it's pricey. Imagine the whole of retail getting trounced if they sold cloth's electrical and furniture Douglas Borough Council (DBC) is all too often very much anti the public whom they are meant to be there to represent. They would still be able to charge the big rates up at the big business parks if DBC got the boundaries extended to include them as they most certainly have long wanted. And not forgetting the negativity and obstructionism of the IOMG Planning Department and the IOM Chamber of (No)Commerce. The local people as consumers always seem to hold absolutely no relevance, no importance and no interest to Douglas Borough Council nor the IOM Government. Far too often they are arrogant, smug, incompetent and unfit for purpose organisations - as virtually everyone knows except apparently themselves. Or maybe they do know but just don't give a sh*t. Dirty Buggane
I think you will find the business park comes under Braddan, The thing that may be confusing you is the fact the DBC service centre is based in Braddan

DBC went mental, and won, when Next proposed a store up that way a few years ago.
Dirty Buggane
You only have to notice the change in lamp posts to see where Braddan starts, they change from silver and blue to black and the welcome to Douglas sign is a give away. I don't think Braddan would let Douglas muscle its boundary lines and take away such a lucrative source of income without a fight, Not if Josem had owt to do with it.
