You reckon they pitched their business plan to private investors with specific %s and cost caps for Govt without agreeing it with Govt first? Awfully irreponsible. Still, will make interesting drama when the Govt subsequenty decides those numbers aren't what they want.

Well yes I know they did. If that isn’t so why have they now not got a license or any other thing to tangibly hang on to despite raising $50M? If it was all a pre ordained fix with government why is literally nothing happening to move it forwards?

Neither party has issued any statement to that end so far as I can see.

Shale gas and fracking tends to go in and out of fashion (especially in the States) depending on the price of gas, as it's very labour intensive and expensive to do. However I guess that drilling at sea appears to be a fairly viable proposition from a cost point of view. I think the plan is also to tie it into the existing processing facilities in the Irish Sea, so this would make it even more viable, as Crogga wouldn't have to put in place the whole infrastructure.

Yeah but you can never have a licence if you have never driven. Can you have a licence for a gun that doesn't exist?

I sold all my guns and still had the licence for a couple of years after, you also get the licence before you can buy the guns. It's not per gun (although you do need to advise the police what guns you have) it's more a certification that (in theory) you're responsible, experienced and have the means to store them safely. Along with the specialist gas investors analysis. No disrespect. Source? Short cut to market contrary to established industry practice recommended by hired expert and investors? Where do we sign up? ‘Best way’ for the company sounds like they havent got the cash to do it properly. I ask again. Show me a project in a responsible jurisdiction where no seismic survey before drilling is allowed. They are either investors or in the brainwashed brigade. We all know that we, the Manx people, will see no benefits from the Crogga. All the wealth will be sucked up and hidden within all the dodgy trust funds and investment hawks along Athol Street. Just look at the North Sea gas and oil in the 1980s. It the same lies then as it is now in terms of the wealth going to the government (not)
b4mbi
But they have all of 2D seismic from last time it was drilled..... don't tell me what took millions of years to form has changed substantially in the few decades since... Seems like you know a bit about the industry, and and can't fathom why you're so against it. Surely you can see the benefit to government if the gas flows, and the only way to establish that is to drill.
