ans
I've always found the Highlander excellent and the other place just down the road on the other side of the course (can't remember the name) do fantastic steaks. The Hawthorn. I've been there a few times and it was excellent. They're a pub that really focus on their food so they do a good job of it.
Rock
the prospect's good, pretty cheap and quick (if you're there at 12) and in town too.
Desperate Dan
The place was a disgrace for me, they couldn't get people in, eaten and out quick enough and don't clean up either. The place is getting back to medieval times when food on the floor was the norm! bring in the boar!
Ean
Which place, the Prospect or the Horse and Plough?

I go there quite alot, the food is fantastic and the service is great (difficult to find on the iom).

ButterflyMaiden
Port Erin and Port St Mary are places we go to eat and drink quite regularly. The Sunday Carvery is really good in the Ocean Castle Port Erin. The Falcon's Nest does super food and Chequers is really good bar food. All of these places welcome small children and they are all reasonably priced. My favourite place on the Island is The Albert in Port St Mary. It has good food and it is a proper pub. The only problem is dragging my husband from the bar afterwards. .. Not a good place for children though.

Slim
Quay in Ramsey, right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No, quay in douglas. Coasters used to be one of my faves, but I think it's pants lately. Last time I was there, the kids pizza was a regular frozen jobbie with some new cheese bunged on the top, pants.
GD4ELI
BTW what's the state of play with the Grand Island now - didn't dare venture inside last time I was over. Best location on the Island IMHO.
