piebaps
Self employed pay a flat rate class 2 contribution and an earnings related class 4 contribution. Employed pay an earnings related class 1 contribution. Class 4 is to make sure that self employed and employed pay roughly the same. Without it, the self employed would only pay the flat rate of £5.70 per week.

offshoremanxman
He’s going out fighting. The Information Commissioner has issued an unprecedented reprimand to 20 public authorities following a Freedom of Information data breach. https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/reprimands-issued-over-freedom-of-information-data-breach-625069 The full reprimand is here https://www.inforights.im/media/2100/public-authorities-reprimand-28-june-2023.pdf Edited July 7, 2023 by offshoremanxman
Ringy Rose
So to summarise the Information Commissioner’s public findings, Cabinet Office moved responsibility of the system to IOMC but didn’t move the administrator/s who knew how to run the system. So when that administrator continued to help administrate this was a Mega Uber Massive Data Breach of Doom requiring the dishing out of 20 bollockings. And now we’ve got the Deputy publicly slagging off her employer, in breach of the civil service rules which also apply to those working for statutory boards. Ideas above their station, the pair of them. The fact they’ve got the time to do this kinda undermines their demand for yet more money though. They accessed over 1200 records. That’s not helping someone out administering a system.

Ah, of course, anyone who thinks the departing Information Commissioner is a bellend must be a Government shill. And not, say, someone who has to pay an £80 data protection licence fee to get repeatedly lectured about inconsequential bollocks. 1200 over the thick end of two years? Sounds like a reasonable use of a CRM tbh. I probably access 50-100 records a day in my company’s CRM as part of my routine duties. ETA: The full decision from Whiting is fascinating. Utter pedantry from start to finish. But hey, they’re socking it to The Man because The Man turned down the Information Commissioner’s request for a taxpayer-funded splurge.
