I politely disagree and believe the value of life has always been the same, it’s beliefs that have changed over this time with few realising the meaning of life these days. The Kells road races club used a quote from the William Wallace movie in ending their tribute to the two men killed: "Every man dies, but not every man really lives". I agree with that but not in the way most would think about it.

Surprised you didn't quote John 10:10, what with your great scriptural knowledge and all...

Helmut/Harry, where you currently reside is known as the valley of the shadow of death. Genuine Christians who keep faith go to heaven, the rest carry on existing somewhere else. God loves all His creation.
I have witnessed some TT riders cross themselves before going out on a lap, some still believe.

Hates gay people though and kids who call people Baldy….

How many wafers do you need to eat until you’ve consumed a whole Jesus?

Why do you keep this charade up multi account Mr Fry? Soaking up Manx culture for 20 years on here, even writing fantasy reviews about local Chinese takeaways. Doesn’t the Rich man and Lazarus account scare you?

This is magnificent - Lazarus rose from the grave it was quite a regular occurrence apparently.

The rest is just noise.

Mike Hailwood raced all over Europe including the Isle of Man sadly he died in an accident going for a chip supper in the family car.   If your name is on the bullet…..

He did. Didn't a lorry make an illegal turn across the central barrier and he couldn't avoid it? His daughter was killed outright if I remember it correctly. Mike died a couple of days later from his injuries. The lorry driver was fined a few quid for causing the accident.

Thinking about it, I'm sure somebody once told me that as a youngster a fortune teller told him that he wouldn't live past 40 and that a truck would cause his death.

I don’t think the Luke 16 ‘Lazarus’ is the same Lazarus that Jesus raised from the dead. I have read commentary that it could be, who knows atm for sure. Regarding the rich man in Luke 16, I believe I’ve worked out what happened to him but won’t say, both Lazarus and the rich man kept on existing though, everyone will find that out one day.

There have been fatal accidents before involving none participants and the races have endured.  No doubt there will be more regulations regarding viewing places.   I don’t know where the feeling comes from that the general public do not support the races or that interest and support is waning most of the people I know love the buzz and the feeling of the Island coming alive even if they do not go to watch the actual performances.

I think the challenge is that times are changing.

A different Lazarus to fit your narrative  -next cab off the rank The Daughter of  Jairus she was also raised- you do realise that when you say “I have read commentary” you already are allowing and agreeing with third party interpretation that disagrees with your original book.

What!? Look Mr Fry I have no idea how many V&T’s you’ve knocked back this afternoon and tonight. Go back and read the thread. From the start I was always referring to the account in Luke 16. Furthermore miracles do happen. I don’t agree with commentary on the Bible. The Bible is God’s Word and is all that is needed to understand the truth of this world.
