I read that yesterday too. Although this is for offshore, which is way more expensive to build and maintain. Plus part of the issue is finance and the associated interest. We already have the money for this as part of that green bond, which to be fair was actually done at a very low interest rate.

It's just corporate propaganda. I think that is even more unlikely to be completed than the onshore one the Govt are twatting about with.

Manx Resident
On Manx Radio Mannin Line today a Mr Callister was talking about green energy, mentioning his support for onshore Wind Turbines above other options. A lady caller, concerned about Earystane, rang towards the end of the programme and challenged the gentleman for not mentioning he was involved with Colas and Auldyn Builders and was on the Govt Climate Committee. What a tangled web seems to be getting spun…….

To be fair she also accused him of being Alf Cannans brother in law which was blatantly untrue.

Fred the shred
Half a million spent already investigating if suggested site is suitable. By the time they have decided where to put it they will have spent so much money there won’t be enough left to build it. Ahh well….

Having read public service pensions now need to be moved to General Revenue , this project t should be abandoned until the cash position stabilises. We cannot afford this right now, no matter what has been set aside for Daphne and her warm feelings ! There won't be many warm feelings when Government is bankrupt and UK step in !
