After numerous presentations we‘re now at questions. Estimated cost £30 million, sloc site still favourite, people are asking strangely detailed questions of how the turbines will be brought here. Have helicopters been considered?

Why are they even bothering ? I've not spoken to anyone who thinks it's a good idea. After the hundreds of millions we've spent/wasted on the promenade, the new boat, the Liverpool ferry terminal etc etc. A new school about to be built too, and we're already in deficit and living off the reserves. Sheer bloody madness.

Diversifying our electricity supply is definitely a good thing.

It’s getting lively, in a very polite way. CM wades in when questions turned to wind turbines ruining island. Says important to diversify supply, relying on interconnector a risk with terrorism and warfare.

CM sounds genuine and concerned about supply stability in future, stating it’s important to keep supply stable. Economy relies on it (tech firms for example).

Now someone mentions turbine blades shedding microplastics, what if they are cacinogenic and go into the cattle and then milk? Panel rebuffs, says not solid science. Feels like Facebook science? Going into vibrations and further things “on the internet” now.

Property values now. How will IOMG compensate people when values crash? Apparently values already crashing. CM seems for project, room against.

On what grounds are property values already crashing? People realising the standard of governance?

Controversial: young female audience member asks question on what’s the price if we don’t take action, climate change etc etc. CM jumps in to say we would fail future generation. Another audience member interjects and claims first audience member is daughter of an MLC. Planted?

Think most of the islands population is against.

You say that but looking at those pictures more people probably turned up to the town hall session about the Douglas bins. I’d have thought more people would have been bothered going if there are so many against.
