This is unbelievable.  A rider in the MGP has tested positive for recreational drug use. Good God, what was he thinking? Someone could have been killed out there.

Crazy, foolish and reckless. It’s not just recreational drugs, I wonder if some have alcohol in their system from the night before or perhaps during the day. Do they conduct drink and drug testing prior to practice/racing?

another rider died on Tuesday aged 69. It's about time they put an upper limit on both this and the TT. No matter how good they think they are, at that age reflexes are not as quick as they used to be...

Surely if there are concerns about reaction time, or for that matter peripheral vision or cognitive decline etc., the answer is to check those things (for all competitors) rather than setting an arbitrary age limit. There are some 70yr olds fitter than some 50yr olds. The effects of ageing can be measured. If they don't meet the standard they shouldn't get a licence irrespective of age.

Yes, this is how he was caught. It's extended to officials also. The days of the hard drinking racer are long gone, it's been a thing since the early noughties but been stepped up recently. Mind you so has drug taking amongst the general population!

factual rumour is saying age had nothing to do with it, nor did reflex time :(
