Two-lane
Her LinkedIn article (written in the third person, although she is the person wot wrote it) says she has a PhD in Leadership in Government - an oxymoron when talking about the IoM gov. She does not say which establishment awarded this award, nor does she mention a BA or MA - so maybe she didn't bother with the trivial stuff. I can't see her making much progress in getting our leaders to lead anywhere other than into a black abyss. It's a tough life being a cynic on the Isle of Man.

'Many we spoke to were unaware that COG TOR actually existed much less what they specified, which perhaps explains why quite different views were expressed as to COG’s role and remit. This naturally begs the question as to what should its remit be?' No power to do that. In fact she'll be a lesser grade being COO of CaBo which is, despite it's ego, a relatively small department with a miniscule budget. She'll be lost being Kate's bitch. https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/new-dhsc-chief-officer-announced/ Another newbie
doc.fixit
I see they've also just employed a new chief officer for the DHSC. So where is cutting back on CS? Will they keep going until we are all employed by Gov. and so no one can complain? 2

Effectively she'll be the CEO of Cabinet Office - at the moment that job's done by the (Acting) Chief Secretary, but he's decided that yet another layer of hierarchy is needed (you can never have too many). As for the Cabinet Office being "relatively small", it actually employs (or did in March) the full time equivalent of 324.0 civil servants. That's more than most other Departments, though it won't employ many non-CS staff. 1

A Bell vanity legacy that had never previously been deemed necessary and which has grown faster, with attendant costs, than something particularly malignant, even requiring its own Minister. Long overdue some external examination and attention. Edited August 30, 2023 by Non-Believer Typo 1

The PhD was entitled "Making Sense of Leadership-in-Government" and awarded by Plymouth University as recently as 2018. It's subtitled : "Senior public servants’ sensemaking pathways to leadership in Westminster system governments – a study of New Zealand and Wales". Which makes no more sense than the title.

Example of earlyish AI methinks. As for the rest of what I've read - as always it's not what's said or written, it's generally what's not said and there is very very little independant source praise for anything she has done in recent history at least! As we are all already aware yet another Govt layer of waste - it never ceases to amaze me what they get away with - ARGH!

I would like to refute these findings, but unfortunately, it would take 380 pages to do so.

No doubt promoting locate.im, getting IOMG assistance in accommodation and relocation costs. I wonder if IOMG/GMT have executive housing for ‘key workers’, or is new refurbished key worker accommodation on Westmorland Road, designed for IOMGs new upper eschelons, and the newly recruited movers and shakers?
asitis
Jesus Christ, more CS bullshit merchants, HR recruitment love them ! Many of our appointments to leading posts have been pitiful, who in gods name interviews these people, who asks them what they have achieved, what they have enriched by their presence ? Still I guess in meetings the underlings who might know something about the job but don't fit the profile can play bullshit bingo ! Cynical MOI ? 3
