Thankfully, I have managed to miss every one of the programs in the 25 series of this shite

The real surprise was that it struggled on till 2018.  Though I suppose it's a philosophical question that if it's on Channel 5, is it really being watched.  Even now being on ITV2 is probably a step up.

The Manx lad is definitely trying too hard on the "Hey!  I'm whacky, me!!" front.  The trouble is that Big Brother contestants are chosen exclusively from people who are desperate to be on television, almost certainly the group of people that anyone would least like to see on it.

I can't find a Dr Matthew Simpson of the right vintage on the GMC Register.

Apparently he’s a doctor who works with old people (so not a “doctor” but someone with a doctorate in something who works in some vague health setting).

That would make sense, though at 24 he's still quite young to have got his PhD, it usually takes a year or two more, even if you didn't do a Masters.

In related news, the great London blogger Diamond Geezer reported today that the site of the original Big Brother House is now literally part of the sewage system.  Which is doubly appropriate as Peter Bazalgette, the creator of the UK Big Brother series, is the great-great-grandson of the man who created that sewer system.  A coincidence much remarked on at the time.

If that is true then I certainly don't trust him.

Medicine is 5 years Uni (so leave 23/24) when you're a 'Junior Doctor' and then a couple of years working in hospitals etc, before you then specialize.

Phd (Philosophical Doctorate) is usually a couple of years, after a year of Masters, after 3 years undergraduate.  So 6 years total(ish).

Either way he must be reasonably intelligent.

Have you not heard of gerontology as a medical specialism.
