Cueey Lewis And The News
This is getting ridiculous now https://www.iomtoday.co.im/news/isle-of-man-road-to-stay-closed-until-people-actively-avoiding-police-are-found-646560 They’ve spend the best part of a day looking for people who legged it from a car crash on the Sloc. They’ll be long gone. All this were going to keep the road closed until you come out is making them look stupid.
doc.fixit
You are unaware of what has really happened so maybe wait until you do.
StCatherine
The only people who seem have any belief that they are still up there, appear to be the police.

Exactly the approach the Bastard Squad have taken- I wouldn’t want to tell Detective Derek or Dog Tasering Schuuuueeeey how to do their job but maybe use a Drone - they’re long gone

You can be back across the plantation to Glen Maye in an hour. Or in any other direction. Expecting them to try to leave via a road seems fairly optimistic. CrazyDave
Road now open. Police still “patrolling the area” What a massive waste of time and money, and another example of making a laughing stock of local plod.

Probably make it to Pt Erin in an hour in daylight. Would sure be an adventure which ever exfiltration route you took in the dark though. Dave Hedgehog
If they were still up there wouldn't it be easier to lure than out with a box of chicken mcnuggets and a vape pen? 2

If you take the Isle of Man Today report at face value then yes it does make the police look ridiculous. There surely has to be more to it than that. If there was some sort of road accident on Douglas promenade would they close that until anyone “ actively avoiding the police” were found? ( Come to that there’s probably a lot of people “actively avoiding the police” on Douglas promenade or its environs who haven’t been involved in any incidents) 1

Fred the shred
The police who stopped them can probably identify them it will just be a matter of time before they are apprehended.

Two-lane
I suppose the police were worried that if the road was left open, the miscreants could hijack a passing car. "Take us to Peel or the floosie gets it" "Hmm, can I think it over?" Or the police could just stick a car at either end of the road and check if anyone is hiding in the boot.
