  • Harry Lamb changed the title to Patrick Commissioners

The Readers Digest version:

"52. I have no hesitation in finding that the Patrick Commissioners’ handling of the complaint
amounted to maladministration. The inertia shown when Mrs N first contact the Clerk on
23 January has continued to be demonstrated for the last 9 months. Even when some
agreement was reached between the Commissioners and DoI in early August, no action was
taken."

It’s a bit like Cluedo this hunt now. So a third commissioner has now resigned this evening.

Leaving only Bridson or Bankes-Jones as the mysterious Mr X.

It was one of them, in the garden, with the shovel.

The Gef article includes the original report which describes them as a farmer which would suggest that it is the former

Bridson got in bother in 2021 for illegally burning gorse on protected heathland in 2021 and also got in bother by putting up posts and earth embankments on Dalby Mountain. He farms in that area. He was ordered to remove them.

and once in you get to blame someone else for  'accidentally' releasing stuff in to the river rather than deal with it properly.

Angela Msin Thompson must love the IoM cs and beaurocrats. It certainly keeps her in employment. However she does write a concise and clear report each time.
Anyone work out exactly where this happened? Can’t figure it out myself.

I reckon it was the Glen Rushen Road (though for many years it's effectively just been a footpath).  They even posted up photos of the guy in action and the dates match:

As the Manx Radio report said:

In October the head of highways and asset management was contacted by a surveyor looking for information with regards to the incident.

The surveyor said Commissioner X undertook work to widen the road by ‘digging into an uphill bank’ which was over 20 meters long.

This then provided him, and two other farmers, ‘some access by vehicular - quad bikes’ to be able to farm their land ‘more effectively’.

So it was hardly done without self-interest.
