How is this even caring about world events? Makes literally zero impact on the situation and it just being done so those who organise and attend can give themselves a pat on the back about how righteous and good they are.

Perhaps they should try dipping their hands in their pockets and supporting charities trying to improve the situation on the ground, rather than doing literally the bare minimum.

Perhaps you should go tell all the other hundreds of thousands of people around the world who have been protesting about the Palestine situation.

Aye, those hundreds of thousands of folk haven't changed a thing have they? A quick afternoon out, while looking like they are doing good but doing even less than the bare minimum. Pathetic lefty back patting circle jerks.

Would recommend starting here if you actually want to help: https://www.unicef.org.uk/donate/children-in-gaza-crisis-appeal/?gad_source=1&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI8vTygtz9ggMVXJRQBh3vvAUIEAAYASAAEgKbsvD_BwE

It’s just Watson acting to type as an angry woke who hates everything and will protest about anything and little else. He’ll get all angry then have a total embarrassing meltdown on social media then move on to trans rights, Black Lives Matter or Just Stop Oil or whatever cause is popular this month and have a total meltdown about that too. I’m sure that Joney what about all the dead babies will be there too stomping around like Millie Tant.

If the island still had the Bishop (having retired and island awaiting recruitment of new incumbent), I’m sure he/she could have performed a blessing of Devon and Joney.

But objecting on the island is pointless, who is the objection aimed at. If you feel that strongly against it should you not be jumping on a plane and manning/womenening ⁸the crossing point barricades. Do not get me wrong object to what you wish, but does seem pointless when there is not even a Israeli consulate on island.

Our Government for not condemning what Israel is doing. So a protest here does seem like the right approach to voice objection over that?

What do they want, a Tynpotwald big debate, followed by CM Cannan making a public (embarrassment of himself) announcement condemning and appealing for a ceasefire?

Fancy meeting up and seeing if we can trigger him?  We can attend in drag with blackface, show them our shares in BP?

Anyone half trying could trigger him in 5 seconds as his ridiculously triggered actions over Katie Hopkins made clear. It’s concerning thought that a nice prom feature like the amphitheater that was supposed to be there to entertain tourists seems to have now been taken over as virtue signaling central.

I'm confident I could do it in even less.

It's speaker's corner now innit.

Manx Speakers Corner, where the nutters congregate to protest. It’s usually outside the Tynpotwald Building.

Far more pathetic and sad to get yourself all in a rage about what some other people are doing IMO 😆

Yes I suspect they're hoping our Government will call for a ceasefire.

It's nice of them to waive the entrance fee, but I question how wise it is to have a car race in the region at the moment.

I don’t know, the prom’s wide enough now and the roundels are perfect for donuts. Could be fun.

I understand the sentiment that wants to see the conflict stopped - no reasonable person wants it to continue.

On the other hand I don't see how "Free Palestine" is an achievable objective without another kind of "ethnic cleansing" that was mentioned earlier. A kind that we've seen before, and which many young Manxmen died resisting. It's not a simplistic situation that needs people sticking their oar in because they've picked a side on social media.

Like the UK's own enclaves of Northern Ireland, Gibraltar, the Falklands, Diego Garcia, it's a complex political and historical situation that isn't resolved by boxing people into "good" or "bad" boxes. Brits should be wary of taking the moral high-ground to lecture another nation on precisely what they've been doing in their own enclaves for centuries.

Naive people see the world as good or bad, black or white. In reality it's all shades of grey. The Palestinian and Israeli people share a large proportion of their DNA, and are closely genetically related, but divided by religion and politics. To project that the Palestinian people are somehow the "right" side after the horrifying murder, rape, kidnap and mutilation of 1,500 civilians in a single attack, including helpless babies, is naive in the extreme. There is no right side, both sides are guilty of human rights abuses. The situation needs to be resolved, but calling for a "freedom" that clearly advocates the erasure of another ethnic group, whatever side it comes from, is outrageous.
