But we still do have slavery in society, and if they are from they are Filipino working in care homes then it is seen as acceptable.

I should have emphasised the 'and'.

I don't think the vast majority of people would think it acceptable.

Most of society has for a long time thought slavery a very bad thing, despite what is condoned and instructed in the Bible.  If more Christians were literal then things would be different but they have picked the bits they liked and discarded the rest, which makes it all the more ridiculous that they are Christian.  Same with people who are gay moving from a fundamentalist church to a liberal church.  Quite ridiculous.

We've got graveyard fees in our rates too.

Then there are redundant churchyard(s) in your local authorities area. Church's are responsible for the care and upkeep of their churchyards whilst they maintain a congregation. Once the church commissioners decide that the church building isn't capable of providing the one thing they demand of it, that it provides services, then they close it. For a hundred years afterwards that responsibility passes to the local council. There would be uproar if families grave monuments were bulldozed the week after the church doors were padlocked.

Really though those that would 'cause uproar' should pay up.  Ridiculous that the working young fund long dead old people with their weird Victorian death cult shit.
