Todays news being trumpeted is about Sir Jim Ratcliffe buying 25% of Manchester United, through a Manx registered company, and the deal being registered by Cains Corporate Services.

Granted it is good news for the long suffering supporters of Manchester United. No doubt IOMG will try and get in on the act, and dick wave, claim some credit etc, and tell us what a wonderful well regulated international offshore finance centre. It is good news but should it be news worthy. Let’s face it Michelle Mone’s Medpro was a Manx Company etc, and look at the reputational damage, it will give to the island. I’m sure someone will look at Manchester United and think there is something dodgy going on?

Did I say or imply that? I referred specifically to Michelle Mone and Medpro, and the negative headlines and connotations swirling around. I have at no point suggested dodgy dealings, merely said that many critics, especially of the IOM and other offshore financial centres, may come out with comments.

If you can actually read, I said that is a good news story!!!

Why not write to JIM with your concerns?

What multi-billionaire James Ratcliffe did to his staff in Scotland was nothing short of a disgrace. Not to mention the tax dodging and the Brexitism.

I’d say Michelle Mone has a better set of ethics than he does, to be quite frank. Him and Manchester United deserve each other.
