The majority of vans are not trade. It is the Isle of Van.

No, not at all.... if the police actually left the donuts and coffee alone then they'd have time to do their jobs and earn the outrageous pension they don't work for. (I like your avatar pic! sympathetic?) As for the DOI, hedgepigs, well, they are....... oink
Kopek
I'm in two minds on this, if the police cracked down on yellow line and on a corner parking it would surely make things better for the rest of us but.......... what would it do to 'Police/ public' relationships??? So someone parks on a yellow to go into a shop! Crime of the century?~??

wrighty
Why can't they just stick the tax on fuel? Then there's no avoiding it, and the cars that give out the most emissions pay more (simple chemistry - petrol in equals CO2 out). Or would this just make things too simple and put a whole cadre of vehicle duty collectors out of work, and their supervisors, and their managers, and their directors, and their CEO ? (Am I getting this whole 'down with the CS' thing right?) 2 1

All these folks that have crap old vans and motorhomes all over the place (that never move) would get away without paying anything at all. We do pay tax on fuel already, think of the vehicle licence being like your standing charge

As long as they’re not abandoned in public places, and there are better ways of dealing with that than charging for a license, which doesn’t seem to work in that regard anyway. I think we will have similar here soon I am sure that the current lowest band will have at least a 50% increase soon to close to or above £100 . We’re meant to be incentivising EV usage, this could be one way of doing so. And then when everyone has one, put the price of the leccy up.
