x-in-man
The price is a standard TESCO Express mark-up for the Express rip-off.

People who are limited to having to shop in an express, who previously paid the same as anyone shopping in any shoprite store, not pay a premium to subsidise the prices of those lucky enough to be near a main store. Shoprite might have cost more, but at least the prices were equal across the island and didn’t penalise, for example, the elderly in Castletown.

It punished all customers by having high prices at all stores. 😄 1

Thats probably just me though, most people seem to just look out for themselves.

Thats probably just me though, most people seem to just look out for themselves. Some people are happy to pay extra for convenience, which is what the whole Tesco Express model is based on. It also means such stores will have a different product range from more standard stores. More alcohol and snacks for example. The real question is whether Tesco should have followed this model for their only Castletown store when there are already three other convenience stores (the Coop and the two garages). The zero is pretty good. Could do with a rich more flavour but it's hard to get flavour without alcohol as the alcohol contribute to the dryness. Is the stuff actually made on Island though? Anyone know?

That is from when I was there, but as they are advertising all the Brewery plant for sale and have planning permission in to downsize to what looks a 10_15 Brl plant they won't have spent £100K on a Reverse Osmosis Plant. Of course it could just be carbonated water with Hop Extract added but of course that would be illegal then to sell it as beer Edited March 31 by alpha-acid
