The Government spends a small fortune to put TT on. The TT currently is reported to earn the island more than it costs. I would be very wary around reducing the income potential of TT. It will give the anti-TT brigade a stick to try and beat it with. If the TT is going to be presented as a world class sporting event then it's just a fact of life that attending it is going to cost a bit of money. It's the way of the world these days sadly.

But let's be honest, it attracts a different economic demographic than the TT ever did and ever will, no matter what the DfE's nebulous delusion. Motorcycling, even at GP level is a very poor relation of F1.

I said it was a reasonable idea to try and make people adopt 'TT Fortnight' instead of 'TT Week' but there seems to be something ingrained here, including local and national/international press and social media. And actually, as far as the general population is concerned, including pubs, most of Practice Week is little different than any of the weeks prior. In fact there has become a clear take-up of huge numbers making it 'TT Weekend', albeit an extended Friday - Monday weekend. Dirty Buggane
Not sure which numpty decided to condense the racing, but to me it is not allowing time for the riders to decompress from each race being that most try and take part in all classes. Also in between days allowed spectators to get out and see more of the island, or is this just an attempt to cut accidents as roads are closed for 4 days solid. Looks like some kind of shite done by a consultation firm that cost us 100 of thousands and will ultimately cost many more as steam packet fail to move the amount of people to and from the island and bed night decrease, not forgetting the multiplier so beloved by government. It was brilliant last year. Everyone we spoke to seemed to approve (apart from a few older people who would fall firmly into the “don’t like change” category)

I saw a few of these pop up on social media surrounding the event. One of them had something silly like "Add Caviar + $150". Different world. Dirty Buggane
Do not give them ideas, sitting on a hedge at side of road along comes a pimply youth with a peaked cap and an old ticket machine found in the tram shed. Nice view of the bend and jump you have there that will be £36.00, if you move 500 yards where the tree's are in the way its only £27.63. Sorry I don't make the rules only sell the ticket's. You have a nice day, oh and the racing is canceled due to fog on the mountain but keep hold of your ticket as a souvenir.

Not a bad idea, would at least help pay for some toilets and stop them defecating on the hedges, though quite how you get a TT fan to not take an al fresco poo when it's so much part of the event.
