If they slowed down a bit they’d be ok racing in the rain.

Never a truer word said.

Back in the day when the races continued regardless of heavy rain, fog or whatever, Joey Dunlop might drop just a couple of mile per hour from his average lap speed.

Is that the same Joey Dunlop who lost control in the wet in a race in Estonia, crashed into a tree and died?

That's an interesting point. Yes that's the very same chap. Ironic isn't it.

i've seen a cloud, is it cancelled for the day yet ?

Depends if the helicopter is fixed yet. Officially they need three but still raced with two, because it’s TT week right and who could have foreseen a chopper losing its rotors in the mist

Are they helicopters used for filming, or for safety?  Noticed less helicopter traffic over my house yesterday.

Three for safety. The one which lost it’s rotors was attending an ‘incident’ on the mountain during racing

Lost it's rotors? Engine failure on ground? Clobbered an obstacle - or what?

i was wondering what that meant too , it's not like they just clip on and could fall off.

Bit of both.

They used to have Special Forces medics onboard as injuries would be similar to those from an IED etc.
