"Mainly dry with bright or sunny intervals." is not a good forecast? By Christ, you're hard to please. I thought that counted as a heatwave here.

Same as today, which was perfectly fine for cycling or any other fun activity, but no we had a full day of uncertainty about road closures.

BBC said light rain all day for sunday this morning. Now says 50% chance of light rain all day. The BBC forecast for today was better than the one for Sunday. Doesnt look like it's going to matter because tomorrow's forecast is great.

They are now incredibly over cautious as there is only one insurance provider willing to provide cover for the event - Paul Phillips “keyboard warrior piece” is pure deflection to justify decisions without actually saying next big incident renders them unemployed.

Will be called out on this next bit - but having had it from someone in the Control Tower today I’m inclined to believe there’s a bit of truth in it.

As a consequence Phillips and the Clerk of the Course are quietly losing the experienced and knowledgeable volunteers as they quit due to the current administration.

it is, but the chances of enough marshals still being on island aren't very high ,

There are loads of locals who would step up if needed.

I never marshal senior race day as it is a day on the ale, but could do Sunday if needed if there is a red flag or another delay tomorrow.

I'd say that most of them are already gone. The real enthusiasts and the knowledge and experience has largely been driven out in recent years now to be replaced by Phillip's mates and "business associates" from the CS. A year's salary for 3 months a year's work is attractive.

I'll probably get flamed for this but I have a great deal of sympathy for Gary Thompson. He has the almost impossible task of trying to safely implement an almost impossible schedule of racing that was dreamed up by the aforementioned pricks in the name of revenue and little else. And we all know what the record is when our civil servants decide to involve themselves in commercial activities and what they leave behind in their wake.

I'd like you to consider an analogy and a question. If a Premiership football manager (or club chairman) went public on social media and declared that they didn't even like football....how long would they remain in the job and what would happen to them?

Yeah you should be flamed everything that’s happened on his watch - and still he has a job - his first move when he came here was to say he wanted rid of the TMs - should have been his first lesson in listening but sadly he’s here and the marriage with Phillips……

PP went from Barclays call centre to Head of TT operations………. Career development is admirable but I’ll let you think about that
