It's almost as if the current one is trying to clandestinely destroy the event using 'elf n' safety and the weather as a pretext. Since everything went a bit woke, they can't run it like they used to. Times change but the event continues.

We used to race in the rain a few years back. If it's genuinely wet, why don't they run on wet tyres like they do in F1? You need to put on a show one way or the other. People spend small fortunes to get here and watch this event and they need to see some action!

Because it's more dangerous, nobody wants to sit in the pissing rain and watch anyway, and the course is too long. If it's not wet everywhere (which it usually isn't) the wet tyres will get cooked on any dry sections.

Which is exactly what they did see, brilliant close racing with plenty of drama. The may well race in the wet in F1, it's still like watching paint dry in comparison. 1
Fred the shred
Not so , safety is the most important thing and the way the weather has been he had to err on the side of prudence. It was the riders feedback that was instrumental in the cancelling of the practices on the week. The spiteful little showers have been a real set back and it has been very difficult to forecast the weather with our microclimate. There is always someone who thinks they could do better when in reality they have difficulty getting their shoes on the right feet. 3
Mr. Sausages
Safety is absolutely, demonstrably, not the most important thing.
