Amadeus
14 hours ago, Blade Runner said: You lot need a wall ASAP or the sea and/or Germans will over run lower Douglas. FFS Look how may Germans are on the local City council already........... If you don't build a wall you will be an enclave of Germany within the next 10 years Even if you don't like him, Donald Trump has the right Idea, build a wall and the wont come. Even better, get Germany to pay for the sea wall, inc' lights and Art. Threaten to stop all imports of BMWs and German Sausage to the IOM and see how long them Germans and their efficient manufacturing industries can hold out for without the HUGE market that is the IOM......... With apologies to Amadeus who I think is a genuine good guy, who has the islands best interests at heart. I also love Sauerkraut although I don't know anywhere on the rock to buy good stuff from if you could advice Amadeus? Fred the shred
Wow, now an airport style customs area at the sea terminal plans put in by DOI . So the pier was not sorted because of lack of funds although the new boat was not an impulse buy but Hey we have the money to build this wondrous new customs area at the Sea Terminal. The mind boggles it truly does.
Frances
why are customs red + green channels required if all journeys are to UK with which we are in a customs union - or is it forward planning when NI joins the Republic or is the long term plan (which may explain live-on-board) for the Manxman to do mini cruises (?Faroes)

Dirty Buggane
No doubt this will tie in to the identity card that the locals will be the only ones required/legislated to carry, as we all know it is only local people that are importing drugs on to the island. It is just the wet dream that Roberts was trying to implement. Oh and we all know which channel any drug mule would be heading for, and if it is so important why have the airport not implemented any custom lanes/checks red or green or is that kinda hard in the space between picking up baggage and walking out of secure area.
