So when he gives his analysis, then the media will report it. Though I am sure that the IOMG cheerleaders will be lining up, to character assinate him. 3

Kopek
If we have to match UK NI rates, Will the UK cut of 2% in NI affect our already announced budget?

No as UK NI rates have nothing to do with IOM , same as tax rates. If we followed UK the vast majority of workers would be paying substantially more in taxes
Albert Tatlock
This is indeed concerning...https://www.manxradio.com/news/isle-of-man-news/economic-data-should-concern-treasury-says-economist/ Are government budgeting or just bullshitting on the right data? CallMeCurious
NI rates differential to UK will have a bigger impact on employers than employees. Once again increasing the cost of taking on new staff.

The Govt are just in largesse self-preservation mode, Budget-to-Budget. Until they find something to replace a £100M+ pa draw on the reserves....like a magic bean tree. Non-Believer
Timbo proudly proclaims that hiking bus fares for schoolkids will net Govt another £45k. Once again, we see that it's all about revenue. Nothing about any adverse effects. Most bus fares are subsidised if it's a public service, especially if we are trying to wean people off their cars. But the priority is that we got to keep those growing numbers of fat arses in salaries and their pension entitlement. Aye... and there's a strong rumour going around that you won't be able to apply for an IOM Bus GO Silver card (for OAPs) until you're dead. Now that's what you call a saving. 😉 As I said elsewhere on this Forum this government is NOT of the people, by the people for the people. It just doesn't give a shit.
