Oh my God, it's all over the television news! We're going to be known as Death Island! Although, aren't we already? You know, TT and that?

The fact Hooper is anywhere near the Islands Healthcare system in any way is a detriment to us all !

Quayle, Professor Ashford now Hooper, it's no wonder it is a mess all ends up !

FFS can't we find someone with a brain to take the service forward.

Yes, it seems to be an inbuilt block to AD  actually becoming a reality here until UK legislation is passed and the relevant professional bodies amend their codes to take it into account.  I think that is CT's point.

When he don't know how medical directors there are, or he just blatantly lied in Tynwald. It's time to resign or be fired.

Article in the Guardian about the Isle of Man Bill, quoting all the usual people, but with some useful links:

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2024/sep/15/progressive-reform-or-slippery-slope-isle-of-man-leans-to-legalising-assisted-dying

as it happens the Guardian's second lead story also relates:

Assisted dying vote may come soon as No 10 says it would not stop bill

Which may reassure some of those who feel unable to move unless they can copy (the southern bit of) the adjacent isle.

The one vital element in all this is not to let the ‘faith organisations’ referred to in the Guardian article deflect the debate. This is the 21st century - we don’t want or need religious nonsense of whatever ilk infecting public policy making.
