Well, I wasn't and how long have you lived here not to realise how things 'get done'? Wake up. Why would a rock in the middle of the Irish sea run a huge fleet of some of the most expensive buses in Europe if there wasn't an 'arrangement'?

Two-lane
The IoM has a very modern bus fleet that gets updated frequently. They are often playing with new toys - bendy buses, battery powered buses ec. Manx Care is denying drugs to some people on the grounds of a shortage of funding. Are there any conclusions you can jump to? Well, moral corruption is one of them.

The Sprinter minibuses are not expensive, though. You can argue there’s too many of them, but not that they’re expensive. The Citaros aren’t the cheapest buses, but they’re also more reliable and better built than the alternatives. We previously had Wright Streetlites here- cheaper, yes, but also unreliable shitheaps completely unsuited to the work here. The Streetlites were bought during Longworth’s reign, so is not like he’s only ever bought Citaros. 5 hours ago, Two-lane said: are often playing with new toys - bendy buses The bendies were tested here because there was a large fleet of secondhand Citaro bendies going dirt cheap after they’d been withdrawn from London. Criticising BV for buying new and criticising BV for trying out secondhand buses. Be about right for this forum. As for the new buses, a £100,000 bus you sell for £40,000 after six years costs you ten grand a year. A £40,000 bus you sell for £0 scrap after four years costs you ten grand a year. That’s how depreciation works. Buying secondhand is often not any cheaper. Edited June 8 by Ringy Rose

The normal minibuses they use on schools are about £50k. The ones which are used on service work, with the lower floor and the wheelchair area at the front, were more expensive. But still cheaper than other full size minibuses such as the Optare Solo SR, which goes for about £150k new.

Mostly small independent companies such as High Peak who don’t have access to the initial capital to buy new buses. But it’s not any cheaper for them. It certainly wasn’t a nominal sum, but clearly a ten year old bus doesn’t sell for brand new prices. Although the Citaros do hold their value, even a 15 year old Citaro will set you back about £15k+VAT.
