Alex
Super Furry Animals play the Villa tonight (Monday 26th Sep) - £17.50 a ticket. Anyone going? You can download some of their stuff from here: http://www.stereogum.com/archives/000431.html here: http://almenosnoeselfindelmundo.blogspot.c...do_archive.html or from their main site here: http://www.superfurry.com/main.htm Don't know who are supporting (though there is a possibility of Jacoba doing it I think), as even the Villa* don't know yet. *They're a bit useless at the Villa really. Just rang to ask if I can get my ticket on the door: "Uuuuhhh, ummmm, wellllll, there may be some availability...." "OK, well who are supporting them?" "Uuuuhhhh, aaaahhhh, wellll, we don't know yet, errmmmm, we haven't had confirmation...." Great. Thanks for the clear cut info.
Slim
Yeah, I'm going. Bit of a pain that nobody knows about the support, as it means I don't know if I should go early or not. Loving the new album, but not sure how it'll work live.

TheScope
Yeahh I'll be there. Havent kept up with them for quite a while - Fuzzy Logic and Radiator are among my favourite albums of all time, but after that I don't know a lot of their stuff. Hope they do some old ones - even if not it should be a treat anyway, saw them at Nottingham Rock City back in 97 on the radiator tour. One of the best live bands I've ever seen. Slim
I find Jacobas orange faces and whippy hair more than a little disturbing.
Alex
Are you accusing Jacoba of being undercover oompah loompahs? Just the name "El Goodo" puts me right of that band for some reason, and I love a bit of Jacoba. I do, I just love a bit of Jacoba. They were only informed this morning that they wouldn't be playing after all, nice 7 hours notice...
Slim
Yes! They're oompa loompas! And they've captured a ginger to convert! Villa just confirmed El Goodo to me too, shame a local band aint supporting especially after BDS blew everyone away support the Don, but I'm happy to see a new band too. Declan
According to a post from one of Jacoba on Manx Bands (interesting links Alex!) el Goodo are support. They are on SFA's Welsh label - Placid Casual and the tracks I downloaded last night from here are very good. Saw SFA at Reading last year and they were suberb, be prepared for costumes. Didn't do that much older stuff but The Man Don't Give A xxxx was a crowd pleaser. I can't go tonight but anyone who can I urge to.
Slim
According to reviews they've "grown up" and don't do the costume thing any more.
