Manx Telecom caught out by the TT - again

I would be surprised if any of our politicos not tried to use their MT mobile service. I would be very surprised if CM Cannan hasn’t tried to make a call or send an email on his phone etc.

I think that our politicos don’t like to complain, as they are in with the likes of our telecom providers.

You are obsessed.

Is this where we've got to as an island? A greedy corporate owned by foreign investors is blatantly ripping people off by charging through the nose for a service which they can't be arsed delivering - yet anyone who dares to complain is considered by some as a kind of lunatic fringe.

He blames every ill on the Island on the 'Politicos'. What have they to do with poor data speeds that MT provide?

How about the ten million they gave them for the fibre rollout? Then the few more million they gave them to speed up the process - what four years ago?

This despite them being a complete monopoly for most of their existence and making long millions in profit every year for their entire existence.

Not to mention the millions they pay them every year for very dubious service.

Make no mistake, our politicos are very much complicit in the development of the rip off shit show that MT have become.

The same could be applied to Island Energy, as our politicos gas bills would be affected, unless the likes of Jason Moorehouse and Rob Callister have a dedicated hotline? Our elected representatives should have the nous to read the room, and start representing islanders. Have MT got a corporate tent up at the grandstand, perhaps out politicos are being wined and dined?

It shows how in the ball they are as to how islanders are coping, if the service can’t cope it’s affecting individuals and no doubt businesses.

We were talking about Manx.net. Hardly the top of the political agenda

Well it’s not just Manx.net is it. Once again my internet went down just after I got home early this morning at 1 30 am. Nothing till just now. Virtually 12 hrs with no accesss . And as now we’re so reliant on apps to pay so many things it’s totally unacceptable . And that excuse for a CM does what. Ohhhh yes , let’s have 15 k more residents please. Boils my P***.

No, keep up, we're talking mobile data being unusable for most of the last two weeks.

2112 quoted your post about Manx Net and how you said they should make that service better and I quoted his. Apologies if this has caused some confusion.

He is still obsessed though. Like a broken record. And yes, before he says it, the 'politicos' are probably guilty of breaking the record as well.

Fair enough, although this thread is about MT's mobile data which also doesn't work.

Though whether it’s MTs mobile data and mobile phone network, or its email product offering is really immaterial. What people are finding that MTs service and acknowledgment isn’t great. Yes people can complain but being realistic how far will it get you? We all know how useless and hopeless our politicos are, afraid to rock the boat or ruffle feathers for fear of not getting a seat on the board after they finish politics. Sadly it’s a take it or leave it approach.

There seems to be MT customers complaining on Facebook about lack of service. The general consensus being that this happens every year at TT time.

Why don't they switch to Sure instead of moaning.
