Mysterious Disappearance Unsolved

Interesting one - certainly wasn't the copper - looks and sounds way too much like a straight "40 years with the force" kinda guy, just no way.. The Russians? Doubt it - they'd do it as a group.. The wife probably just passed out somewhere and nobody knows her full story yet, so evidence missing. Dodgy Turkish interrogations don't count, as the Turkish police isn't exactly known for their high standards, so that leaves only one possible scenario for now:

Poor George got really drunk, was put to bed by his new found friends, and after all of them left, decided to get some fresh air - maybe he felt sick, but certainly he was walking like a proper drunk, seeking support on all the furniture he could get a hold on, and hence creating a lot of noise. Ships are not like houses, and any sound can be greatly enhanced by the steel bulkheads, making a drunk walking around sound like someone trashing the room. He made it to the balcony and, realising he couldn't comfortably lean over the railing, turned one of the chairs around to kneel on it and have another look at his Diner from last night. He lost his balance, fell down onto the railing of the mentioned balcony below him and lost some blood (hence the stain) - the ship hit a wave and he fell off into the sea. The blood he lost was mixed with seawater (spray) and the stain looked really big in the morning, although it might have only been a little head injury.

Only possible verdict, until further evidence is disclosed: Accident

Case closed I'd say, but if you're not sure, here are a few pics of the ship:

The Brilliance of the Seas - cabin in question is on deck 9, midships:

A cabin similar to the one the couple had:

And loads more pics of the boat can be found here - she was actually built in Germany in 2002, but don't blame us this time...
